Dr.J.Rajan Vedasiromoni’s career spanned him through 45 years of experience. He has worked as a researcher, scientist and an administrator. He was born on 26 March 1949. He holds on advanced degree in B.Sc Chemistry from Madurai University in 1970, M.Sc., Pharmacology from Madras University in 1973 and his Ph.D in Physiology from Calcutta University in 1982. He has truly distinguished himself as a Scientist by holding prestigious positions in various institutions: “CSIR Research Fellow” IIEM, Kolkata (1973-1977), “Scientific Assistant” IIEM, Kolkata (1977-1981), and ‘Scientist’ IICB, Kolkata (1981 – 2009). The hall mark of his position at the time of retirement was “Scientist G”.

After his retirement, he is posted as a placement cell coordinator NIPER, Kolkata from 2009-2011. He holds a prominent position as a Registrar in NIPER, Kolkata from 2011-2015. He is a Life member in Science Congress, Indian Pharmacological society , Association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India. He distinguished himself in the area of Neuropharmacology, Neuromuscular Pharmacology, Gastric Pharmacology and Ethnopharmacology. To his credit he has guided 14 Ph.D scholars and he has published 65 scientific articles.
